Reset & Rise:
A Guided Restorative Retreat
August 27-30, 2026
your invitation to slow down, soften, and restore
This intimate retreat is designed as a true nervous-system reset—quiet, grounded, and deeply restorative to allow plenty of rest and nourished exploration.
Blending integrative functional medicine, somatic practices, gentle movement, and therapeutic red light, this curated experience supports deep rest, cellular renewal, and nervous system regulation. This is not a high-performance retreat—it’s an invitation to slow down, soften, and restore. Each element of the retreat is intentionally designed to calm the nervous system, support cellular health, and restore balance without overwhelm. Let yourself immerse in the beauty of the Kenai Fjords as our skilled facilitators guide you back into balance with your own natural rhythms.
We are proud to welcome Jamie Klaes, founder of Makiuri Health, and Evangelynn Honegger, founder of TRUE Care Integrative Medicine, to Shearwater Cove to lead this nourishing retreat. Together, Jamie and Evangelynn bridge evidence-informed naturopathic medicine with embodied practices—creating a retreat experience that is both clinically grounded and deeply human.
We invite you to join us for this groundbreaking fusion of modern clinical expertise and the timeless healing power of nature.
Evangelynn Honegger is an integrative naturopathic primary care doctor, licensed acupuncturist, and founder of TRUEcare Integrative Medicine based outside of Seattle, WA. Her work is grounded in integrative primary care and prevention, and centers on nervous system healing at the foundation as the place where sustainable balance takes root.
Blending evidence-informed integrative medicine with somatic practices, breathwork, gentle movement and nervous system practices. Dr. Vange creates nourishing spaces that feel safe, spacious, and deeply supportive. Her approach emphasizes restoration through presence rather than effort, honoring the body’s innate capacity to recalibrate when given the right tools, time and care.
In my work with patients, I often see that the nervous system isn’t resisting—it’s protecting the body the only way it knows how. This work isn’t about fixing something defective, but about relearning partnership with a body that’s been speaking all along. When safety is restored and the nervous system comes back online, clarity returns without force—and the need to live on override begins to soften. - Dr. Vange
As co-facilitator on this retreat, Evangelynn helps shape the rhythm of each day—inviting participants to soften, listen inward, and reconnect with the quiet intelligence of their bodies. Through gentle structure, steady consistency, and a felt sense of safety, she creates the conditions where regulation can take hold. From that place, change no longer needs to be forced—it becomes possible, sustainable, and rooted.

Founder makiuri Health
Certified Yoga Instructor (RYT-500), Certified Bali Breathwork Facilitator
Jamie Klaes is the founder of Makiuri Health and an Alaskan aviator whose work bridges evidence-based wellness with restorative, nature-centered practices. Raised in a remote fly-in community in the Arctic, Jamie developed an early understanding of how environment, light, and rhythm shape human health and resilience.
After years in high-demand aviation and recovering from spinal injuries, Jamie turned to integrative modalities including yoga, breathwork, red light therapy, and nervous system regulation. Jamie is a 500-hour certified yoga teacher from Baptiste Power Yoga Institute. She has trained with Bryan Kest and Shanti Chagnon, and traveled to Mysore, India to train Ashtanga with local instruction. Jamie is also a certified Bali Breathwork Facilitator. Breathwork is a transformative practice that blends ancient yogic breathing (Pranayama) with modern somatic techniques. Through intentional, connected breath patterns, the practice supports nervous system regulation, emotional release, and deeper self-awareness, creating space for restoration, clarity, and personal healing.
Jamie’s own healing journey informs her work today, where she creates intentional experiences that support rest, recovery, and sustainable vitality. Her approach is practical, grounded, and deeply informed by both science and lived experience—inviting participants to slow down, reconnect, and return to balance.

Yes and yes!
Each retreatant is required to bring a full set of rain gear and a pair of shoes that you don’t mind getting wet/muddy during any outdoor kayaking or hiking excursions. We want to ensure that everyone stays warm and dry in case of rain.
Prior to the retreat you will receive a packing list with recommended items to bring. Recommended items include multiple layers for outdoor activities, comfortable and warm clothing for yoga, breathwork, and bodywork sessions, and cozy clothes and shoes for wearing in the yurts/around camp.
-
While this retreat is focused on slowing down and restoration, retreatants must be comfortable with a moderate level of activity and mobility. The natural landscape of Shearwater Cove requires guests to go up and down stairs to navigate between the yurts and communal spaces for meals and activities. A reasonable mobility/activity level is also needed to enjoy the sea kayaking and hiking activities. Sea kayaking and hiking trips are beginner friendly.
There are several flights of stairs from the dock at Shearwater Cove up to the yurts, so please keep this in mind as you pack your bags. Soft luggage that can be worn as a backpack is highly recommended.
Yoga sessions are beginner friendly and will include modifications to meet your mobility level. If you have any questions about the physical and mobility level needed to enjoy this retreat, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
